Icy pale green, deep velvety blue, a touch of sour lemon on a dry and rough paper, this is the way images start. The paint strokes begin to look like birds in trees, houses on fire, women flaunting their nether parts, the picture begins to have its own light and logic. This is the process but the motivation is not easily apprehended.
Staying in motion, moving toward clarity is essential... the opportunity to invent the world through a brush is irresistable. The unpremeditated act of making space and light form color and paint a risk and a wonder.
